The key to professional success

Throughout my career I have seen very talented artists end up failing and even leaving the profession by the lack of an essential quality in work and in life: RESILIENCE.

In our profession we are subjected to very difficult tests, as constantly changing city, Company, work style, quality criteria, production time, etc. Our success or failure will depend on our quick adaptation to the company and the persons composing. Do not waste time and energy in comparison with the previous way of working, your former coworkers or the city where you lived because now part of the past. We must learn to adapt to new situations, have no fear of change and see it as a learning opportunity rather than a problem. In this sense, of all obstacles that can be found in the adaptation process, the most difficult to overcome difference is our own ego. I have known professionals as they were gaining experience and knowledge, they were gradually withdrawing into themselves to the views of others, erroneous and useless considering. The ego makes us insensitive to our environment and we closed the doors to improve our work. In a profession where the criteria for approval of the work is so subjective, we must learn to put aside our ego and quickly adapt to the new idiosyncrasy of the project. The sooner we adapt to the new criteria for approval, Maybe we will go and party will draw more of our time on the project. Humility leads us to recognize that our approach is not always the best and be willing to learn new things. When we started working on a new project we always some uncertainty pervades and is easy to hold on to our own ego. The ego always developed a form of protection and makes us feel safer with the new situation. We flattered and makes us believe that our work is fantastic but that others know not appreciate, completely distorting reality. A person who has a real self is not afraid to explore the unknown, that accepts the disapproval of others and fail to learn without damaging their self-worth. We must learn to be humble, remain open to the ideas of the new project and not automatically reject everything that is opposed to their way of thinking and feeling. This does not mean you have to abandon your way to your artistic ideals or to let out a lifeless form. It is understood the new criteria and make our, putting aside our ego and seek at all times to reconcile balance our personal style with new project. We will make our way through the project is enriching for ourselves and we can continue our professional growth.

Each project should add knowledge, increase our enthusiasm for the profession and the desire to start the next. Not achieve professional success without the opportunity for each new project, city, business, Director and ultimately, each new knowledge and experience. Clearly we all have our personal style, our own way of doing things and our ego artists. We are strong and adaptable while. It's about finding the balance between the two forces to fluctuate positively and we allow our journey in this profession is enriching, happy and lasting.
